The City of London has approved plans for the expansion and refurbishment of Cripplegate House.

Castleforge is extending and refurbishing the former Cripplegate Institute building to provide an additional 2,485m2.

The community and cultural space at ground level will be combined with new public art and murals all over the site as part of the plan, which will be part of Culture Mile.

Shravan Joshi, Chairman of the City of London Corporation’s Planning and Transportation Committee, commented: “This scheme delivers Grade A flexible and sustainable office floorspace for City businesses and workers, as well as a new community hub at the heart of Culture Mile for everyone to enjoy.

“It underlines the ongoing robust demand for office space in the City as developers and investors look to the future with confidence.

“The redeveloped building will enhance the surrounding area and place sustainability at its core.”
