Key Details
Overview
George House at 131 Sloane Street is a 12,702m2 commercial building off Sloane Square in London SW1.
The development is a 135,000 sq ft office and retail scheme access from Sloane Street together with small retail units and a restaurant around a new public courtyard, accessed from Pavilion Road. The full address is 127-135 Sloane Street.
The scheme was completed in early 2015. The project is designed for a BREEAM “excellent” sustainability rating incorporating high sustainability standards and environmental features in terms of energy performance. This included photovoltaic cells for the generation of electricity, rainwater harvesting, bicycle storage, planting and green roofs.
Mark Castle, deputy chief operating officer for Mace, said in Spring 2014: “We are delighted to have been appointed by Cadogan. This is a new relationship for Mace and an opportunity to demonstrate the client focus that is fundamental to our business. The Sloane Street development is highly prestigious and we look forward to delivering this and building a strong relationship with the client throughout the project's lifecycle.”
The Stiff + Trevillion designed property at the site of Liscartan House and Granville House consists of two buildings that were demolished to make way for a single six storey building. The scheme secured planning consent from Kensington and Chelsea at the end of 2011.
Mace was appointed on 29 January 2013 following a competitive tender process. Works commenced on the site on 25 February 2013.
Demolition, piling and construction of the basement substructure will take place during 2013, with the steel frame, cladding envelope and internal finishes installed through 2014.
The project team included:
