2013 May - Planning permission granted for:
Demolition of existing building and erection of two new buildings of ground floor plus seven upper storeys with two basement levels. The new building fronting Hanover Square would be in commercial use for retail (Class A1) and restaurant use (Class A3) at basement and part ground floor level and offices (Class B1) on the upper floors with an entrance at ground floor level and a rooftop plant room; the new building fronting Princes Street would be for residential use (Class C3); basement car parking; rear servicing area; vehicular access from Princes Street.
The old mixed-use building on site was designed by Ronald Fielding Partnership and was completed in 1972. 26 small residential units on 2 floors.
Hanover Square was laid out in 1714 and it was the first of five prominent West End squares. Named after George I and the Hanovarian royal dynasty.
