One Portal Way
Key Details
Overview
One Portal Way is a planned mixed-use development in North Acton, London W3.
The One Portal Way project will create a new town centre in North Acton, addressing the LB Ealing and OPDC's goals. The scheme features a mix of housing, employment spaces, and public facilities. It includes a 384-unit co-living and co-working building, a 17,537m2 workspace building, a 260-key hotel, and various retail units. Future phases will be flexible, adapting to market changes.
The development is designed to create 1,805 to 2,610 full-time jobs and includes three tall buildings marking proposed public squares and a green court. It aligns with the London Plan's policies, national, and local objectives, responding to the OPDC Opportunity Area Planning Framework. The project is led by architects Pilbrow & Partners for Imperial College London.
Placemaking is central to the project, transforming the area into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly town centre. The development integrates with the community, emphasising inclusivity and accessibility. With good transport accessibility, including the new Crossrail Acton Mainline station and HS2, sustainable development is well-positioned for success.
Former headquarters for Dixons Carphone within two inter-linked 14,000 sqm buildings.
Imperial College London bought the site in 2016 through the College’s endowment fund for investment purposes.
